Because of the improvement in staff morale and patient satisfaction in the PACU, Sandra received the Employee of the Month award. The moral of the story is: Dare to be a visionary! Who knows… you could be the hero and be named Employee of the Month.
Sandra Johnstone, RN, PACU Supervisor for Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center in Santa Cruz, CA, was at the Sutter Santa Rosa Medical Center for a meeting and saw the Sereneview® curtains in the Recovery room. The Santa Rosa PACU supervisor explained that she got rave reviews from everyone who came through their Recovery. Sandra wrote down the contact information on the Fabric Care label, and contacted us the next day, when she got back to Santa Cruz.
The Sereneview curtains and overheads were installed at Sutter Maternity over a weekend, and when the staff came in on Monday morning they were ecstatic with the new look, even the ones who had questioned the idea.
